The Social Justice Photography Competition is part of the promotion for the Social Justice Challenge, an online activity for second-year undergraduates at Manchester. This challenge is one of three Ethical Grand Challenges that students are invited to take part in as part of the University’s Stellify programme.
The photography competition enables undergraduate students to highlight an issue of social justice that matters to them. Five short- listed photos went to a public vote, viewed more than 12,000 times on Instagram, Facebook and at an exhibition on campus. Nearly 3,000 votes were cast.
Here’s a look at the five which made the shortlist and read the stories behind the photographs.
